# Translate your blocks

Customers see the account pages in the language they shop in. Optimalify shows each block's
text in that language when you've translated it, and your original text when you haven't.

## What gets translated
- **Built-in wording** — buttons and default labels such as "Download invoice" — comes
translated in English, Vietnamese, German, French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. Nothing to set up.
- **Your own text** in Banner, Support, Social links, FAQ, Store policies, Rich content, Trust
badges, Payment icons and Custom pages: you translate it, in either of the two ways below.
- **Profile custom fields** have their own per-language labels in the Profile block.

## Before you start
Add the languages you sell in under **Settings → Languages** in your Shopify admin and publish
them. Only published languages appear in Optimalify.

## Option 1: translate inside Optimalify
1. **Apps → Optimalify → Translations**.
2. Pick a **language**, then a **block**.
3. Type each translation next to the original text and **Save**.

Customers see the new text right away. A field you leave empty shows your original text.

## Option 2: translate in Translate & Adapt
Every block's text is also available in Shopify's **Translate & Adapt** app, under the
Optimalify entries (one entry per block text, FAQ question, policy, badge or link). Translate
there as you would any other content.

Translate & Adapt changes reach customers the next time Optimalify syncs — automatically each
time you open the Optimalify app, or straight away with **Translations → Sync translations**.

## Good to know
- When you change the original text, Shopify marks its translations **outdated**. Outdated
translations are not shown — customers see the new original until you update or confirm the
  translation ("Still correct" in Optimalify).
- Regional languages fall back to the base language: a customer browsing in French (Canada)
sees your French translation if there is no French (Canada) one.
- Translations are included on the Free plan.
